Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe region has been chosen to host the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games. The decision was made today by the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) in Guadalajara, Mexico.

We are happy to share that we have secured a live webcast of the decision for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games, on Friday November 6th, 2009, between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. The decision is currently scheduled for 6:00pm, however there is the possibility that it will be somewhat early/late.

In light of swine flu concerns, the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO), which awards hosting rights to the Pan/Parapan American Games, advised candidate cities for the 2015 Games earlier today that Bid Books are not required to be submitted by April 30, the original deadline identified in PASO’s bid process.

Ontario announced the location for the proposed 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games athletes’ village today as Toronto’s West Don Lands. The proposed village, should the city win its bid to host the games, could accommodate up to 8,500 athletes and team officials in a single, centrally located area, and could include the following components:
