Angela Longo was appointed Deputy Minister of Health Promotion on July 27, 2009.   

Previously, Angela was the Deputy Minister of Small Business and Consumer Services (MSBCS), where she provided leadership on consumer protection and support to small and medium sized businesses and youth entrepreneurs in start-up, investment and growth. 

Angela has a wealth of public sector experience. Her past positions include: Commissioner of Revenue, President & CEO of Legal Aid Ontario, ADM of Family Justice Services in Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG), ADM/CAO of Business Improvement at MAG, as well as positions in Culture and Citizenship and Management Board Secretariat.

She currently serves on the Board of ServiceOntario and is the Executive Sponsor for the East Asian Networking Group.  Angela is a former board member of the Law Foundation of Ontario, Pro Bono Law Ontario, and Central Neighbourhood House.

She holds a Bachelor of Administration in History from the University of Western Ontario. After two years in an MA program in Political Science, Angela left Western to begin her career in public service as an Ontario Legislative Intern at Queen’s Park in 1976.
