Cynthia Morton was appointed Deputy Minister of Health Promotion on December 19, 2007. In this role, she will further the ministry's mandate in championing health promotion and chronic disease prevention. Ms. Morton was formerly the Chair of the Ontario Parole and Earned Release Board, and has served as Deputy Minister, Ministry of Attorney General and Deputy Minister of Labour and Education in British Columbia. She is also a former Children's Commissioner in that province as well as a former Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Cynthia has worked with diverse communities of interest and ethnicity, has a broad understanding of children's issues, and has been a change leader in the legal and justice system. Cynthia is a graduate of York University's Osgoode Hall Law School and holds an LLB.
