HEALTHY COMMUNITIES FUND: Local Funding Stream
Local Funding Stream
| The intake for the 2009-2010 Healthy Communities Fund is closed. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit this HCF website in early 2010 for details on future funding. |
The Healthy Communities Fund (HCF) is a one-window approach to funding community partnerships to plan and deliver integrated programs that improve the health of Ontarians. This new approach builds on the success of current ministry funding programs and will provide more opportunities for local organizations to apply for funding by expanding the scope of eligible health promotion initiatives to include: physical activity, sport and recreation; healthy eating; mental health promotion; tobacco use and exposure; substance and alcohol misuse; and injury prevention. The fund will require increased partnerships among local organizations, resulting in more comprehensive health promotion programs that provide Ontarians with better access to priority health promotion programs and services.
The HCF will provide funding to eligible organizations that are taking a holistic and integrated approach to improving health and wellness at the community level. By working in partnership, organizations will have an opportunity to gain new expertise and to reach a broader audience while providing more comprehensive programs to Ontarians in their own communities.
Applicants who wish to be considered for this intake of the HCF must submit their application by July 24, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Applications received after this date will be considered, pending availability of funds.
