The Ministry of Health Promotion is a champion of healthy public policy in Ontario. We are committed to working closely with our partners in government and across sectors to develop and influence policies, programs and practices that enable individuals and communities to live healthy, active and safe lives.

Ontario's Injury Prevention StrategyThe government launched the Injury Prevention Strategy in 2007 to reduce preventable injuries in Ontario, taking a government-wide approach to injury prevention. Most injuries are not "accidents". They are predictable and therefore preventable.

Helmet Fitting Cards

The Ministry of Health Promotion contributed $400,000 for the ThinkFirst Foundation of Canada to work with public health units and community sport and recreation partners toprovide free sport and recreational helmets to children in need, and to develop and distribute promotional and communications materials. This helmet fitting card was one of the materials that accompanied the helmet fitting clinics.
