Hosting the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe is cause for all of us to celebrate—but it's more than just fun and games.
The Games are also important to Ontario—and for all Canadians.
In summer 2015, Ontario will host the Pan American and Parapan American Games, the largest multi-sport event staged on Canadian soil since the 1976 Olympic Summer Games.
The Games encourage excellence from high-performance athletes and can help inspire active living. The Government of Ontario recognizes this and is investing $500 million in the Toronto 2015 Games.
Ontario athletes are strong Pan American and Parapan American medal contenders. Our nation ranks third for all-time medal wins – one in five of the 1,577 medals Canadians have won to date, are gold.
