Hosting the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe is cause for all of us to celebrate—but it's more than just fun and games.
The Games are also important to Ontario—and for all Canadians.

Athletes' Village

Ontario is starting construction on a new waterfront community in the West Don Lands — in time for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games — creating 5,200 direct and indirect jobs. The new community will become the temporary home to more than 10,000 athletes and officials participating in the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games. Read more.

Games Overview

In summer 2015, Ontario will host the Pan American and Parapan American Games, the largest multi-sport event staged on Canadian soil since the 1976 Olympic Summer Games.

Ontario's Role

The Games encourage excellence from high-performance athletes and can help inspire active living. The Government of Ontario recognizes this and is investing $500 million in the Toronto 2015 Games.

Ontario athletes are strong Pan American and Parapan American medal contenders. Our nation ranks third for all-time medal wins – one in five of the 1,577 medals Canadians have won to date, are gold.
